Pequod Studio Italiano
Draft 1Verified

We make software that works, and then we test it, and then we try to break it.

Whatever is still standing, we deliver.

Pequod Studio writes code, draws, writes, edits and builds prototypes. Every project comes with something people say. Scroll, and the red pencil corrects it; the blue confirms it holds. These are today’s projects. Others are in the works, and will come here once they have stood up to the tests.

FoldEngine

Scientific developmentIn developmentfoldengine.science

They say that to study a protein you need a computing centre a PC with CUDA to fold it a Mac with Apple Silicon, and the whole research suite in one place.

A molecular dynamics engine written in Metal for Apple silicon, surrounded by the tools researchers need: an all-in-one suite, on the Mac, with no computing centre. An App Store exclusive, designed for Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.

Every result goes through a certification campaign against independent references before it counts.

Illustrative diagram, not output from the engine. Push the chain with the pointer.

They say a reading app is a list of books the evening ritual a library, a reading group and an eye on due dates.

Your own library and the ritual of reading in the evening, a group to read with, and library loans kept an eye on, due dates included. An App Store exclusive, designed for Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, in fourteen languages. Born from three editorial explorations, one inside the other.

The tools’ traps are reproduced live at every session, so the rules don’t grow old in silence.

Illustrative diagram: a week of evenings. When the draft turns to evening, the columns light up.

Kotonko

Development, researchIn developmentkotonko.app

They say a program made for Windows only runs on Windows made for Mac only runs on Mac made for Linux only runs on Linux runs wherever we adapt it, one verified piece at a time.

The aim: to run programs made for Windows, Mac or Linux on any system. A local process builds, verifies and reuses compatibility adaptations, assembling pieces that are generated and checked one by one.

The same inputs are compared with a run on the real original system: if they don’t match, the adaptation doesn’t pass.

Illustrative diagram: each piece is compared with the original system. One doesn’t match, it is redone, and only then does the whole pass.
